Tyson was first seen as a 10 year old Rottweiler who was diagnosed as having cervical disc disease. His owner had been using normal pain medications which did work as long as he was taking them daily. However, because of his age and the potential of liver side effects, she was unhappy about continuing the medication on a daily basis and decided to give acupuncture a try. He started treatments in April of 2006. By his third treatment, his owner was no longer giving him his NSAID  medications on a regular basis. She discontinued his medications after the fifth to sixth treatment. As of April 2007, Tyson continued to have acupuncture sessions. The duration ranged from as long as eight weeks to as short as three weeks. His cervical pain was minimal if any. In the fall of 2007, Tyson was diagnosed with lymphoma. April 2008, He was given Western chemotherapy and his acupuncture sessions continued to control his pain and to help the chemotheryapy. Tyson turned 13 in 2008. Tyson finally succumbed to the lymphoma in late 2008. The acupuncture kept his quality of life until the end.

Arnold was also a patient with disc disease, but his pain was in the mid back region.
His owners had been treating him with conventional pain medications that included
steroids and non-steroidals, but Arnold continued to show pain. Out of desperation,
they decided to seek out acupuncture. He began to show improvement soon after the
second treatment. In fact, he felt so good that he overdid it while playing and took
a few steps backward in his recovery. Arnold was seen every every 6 to 8 weeks until
he passed on in mid 2011.

" We were at a crossroads of having to make some tough decisions, we could not watch our dog live in
so  much pain. We found some research that showed  acupuncture was proven to help our dog's
condition and then we started treatments. Our dog is now back to his old self. We are delighted! "
